My publication is not indexed on Google: what should I do?

Not sure how the mission control system or error counter works?

💡 Read I received an error on my mission: what should I do? first.

Why does this error appear?

The Google indexation check starts from day 20 after publication. If Google hasn't referenced your article by that point, an error is flagged.

⚠️ Important: even if your article is already indexed, the green confirmation tick will only appear from day 21 onwards — this is normal system behaviour, not an error.

My article was just published — is this normal?

Yes, if your article is less than 20 days old. Google indexation takes time, especially for sites with a low crawl frequency. No action is needed in this case: wait for the control to run again automatically the following day.

My article has been published for more than 20 days — what should I do?

If the error persists beyond day 20, check the most common causes:

1. Check indexation in Google Search Console

  • Log in to your Google Search Console.
  • Enter the exact URL of the article in the search bar at the top.
  • If the page is not indexed, click "Request indexing".

2. Check for technical blockers
Make sure none of the following are preventing indexation:

  • A <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> tag in the page code
  • A Disallow rule in your site's robots.txt file
  • An article set to "draft" or "private" status in your CMS

3. Check the URL entered on the platform
Make sure the URL in the "Publication" tab of the mission matches the published article's URL exactly — no redirects, no typos.
